How To Prepare For Your Next Vet Appointment

We understand that vet visits can be stressful, especially when you have a sick or agitated pet who hates going to the doctor. To make your appointment as easy, pain-free, and productive as possible, it’s crucial to be properly prepared for your visit. Here are a few steps you can follow to do this successfully:

  1. Call your vet the day before the appointment to ask if they have any special instructions for your visit, such as bringing a stool or urine sample.
  1. Prepare and bring all your pet’s medical records. This includes results he may have from previous blood work or diagnostic exams.
  1. Write down a list of your pet’s current medications, as well as any questions and concerns you may want to bring up with your vet.
  1. Get your pet used to being handled by gently touching his ears, paws, mouth, and other parts of his body.
  1. Avoid feeding your pet a large meal before the visit.
  1. Place toys and a soft blanket inside your pet’s carrier to ensure his comfort. If you have your dog on a leash, take him for a walk before going to the vet.
  1. Give your pet treats throughout the visit.
